A Juris Doctor (JD) is the degree conferred by law schools.
JD programs usually take three years to complete and focus on not only the law but reasoning and writing as well.

We offer JD, LLM and SJD degrees, as well as nine dual-degree programs.
During the third year, JD students may study abroad and complete a foreign LLM degree at one of four partner schools: Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, Middlesex University in London, University of Paris Dauphine, and Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School.The two students study for six weeks over the summer period (June - August) between Year 2 and Year 3 at The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies at Fairfield University, Connecticut USA.Students attend lectures and undertake clinical placement in the partner clinical sites.The exchange opportunity is offered by the School of Nursing and Midwifery to two students based on academic performance in the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (General) programme. During this period, students attend lectures on the Global Health module at Case Western Reserve University, with practice placements in the Cleveland Clinic and a community setting.Some financial support is provided to assist with costs.A bachelor’s degree is required for entry as well as the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).Many JD programs are full time; however they may offer part-time or evening classes to accommodate working professionals.Campus accommodation is available and some financial support is provided by the International Office to assist students with costs.The LLM degree in US and Global Legal Studies, first offered in Fall 1992, was among the first LLM degrees offered in the United States exclusively for graduates of foreign law schools.Our university enrolls over 1,800 international students from countries worldwide.Our international law, health law, and intellectual property law programs are among the top in the nation.
